Halloween part deuce

Yep, that medal is mine! I am officially a half-marathon completee. Yes that is only half of what my brother did when he was 13 years old, but I am proud of what I did. I think that it was mid-jerusalem that I decided I wanted to run the Halloween Half, what came over me? I have no idea but I stuck to it  and so when I got home I got right into training. I set a goal of running it in 1 hr and 45 mins and I got exactly that! To be honest the first 12 miles were not that bad, it wasn't until mile 13 that I was done with the race. After I crossed the finish line my legs turned into instant jello. So sorry to the random guy next to me that I kept falling on. my bad.
Mela and I decided to dress up as Batman, which was easy to run in but there were some creative costumes like a shower, oompa loompas, minnions (from despicable me), sumo wrestlers, and pretty much anything else you could think of. I don't know how they could run 13 miles in that but props to them. One of the best parts was at the finish line we had some supporters that cheered us to the finish!

I am so proud that I did it but I could not be happier that it is over and boy is my body feelin it today. Stairs are my arch nemesis. It feels like knives are stabbing through my legs with each step. Do I regret it? nah but I do regret that I decided to go dancing til 1 am on friday night and then wake up at 5:15 to get to the race. Probably should have rested and planned that better but hey I am only in college for a few short years and I have to live it all up.

So speaking of the Halloween festivities, this weekend was busaaay. Friday night we had a wedding for a friend that went to Jerusalem then we rushed back to watch the end of a sad BYU game. But I must say they played better than I thought they would. Then it was the infamous Alpine Halloween dance party. There were thousands of people there (and I am not exaggerating) literally thousands. Sometimes it was just too crowded and I was getting pushed and shoved all over the place. We ended up in the outskirts of the dance and just danced our hearts out. Saturday night started out with some good ole' BYU basketball, I would go into how obsessed I am with the bball team but I will save that for it's own post someday. We had to leave early and go watch our really good friend play at the Velour.  I had heard him play before but man he was so good and I was so impressed. All I have to say about the concert is that you gotta love the indie scene in provo. you know what I mean.

The rest of the night we went to a few different house dance parties with the dinner group boys, jerusalem friends, and of course my roomies. They were all a big success and it was so much fun going to the different parties and dancing the night away. Not going to lie when the clock struck midnight I turned into a pumpkin and was ready for bed. So tired. But dad you would be proud and even though my body was aching and my feet were killing me I persevered and danced the night away- I know where I got my moves.  Well I need a nap so thanks for everyone who actually read this entire thing. I know it was long but I will post in the next few days. HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Here some candid shots from the dances. I changed costumes and was a flapper for the night.

Roommate Date Night

So last night we decided that it was time for our first roommate date night!
We have been planning on doing this since the first week of school and we are now just getting around to it. ya we are procrastinators but we got around to it so that's all that matters, right?
I went with a guy who I had previously gone on a blind date with, Jessi and Melissa went with guys from our dinner group and Linds with Mark (of course)
We decided to go bowling at fatcats- so much fun! We happened to go on Glow-In-the-dark/ dance night which just added that much more to the date. my roomies and I do like to break it down so we need guys that can keep up :)
I also realized that I am terrible at bowling! I thought I was decent but I got the worst score. I barely broke 50! that is so embarrassing. But my last bowl of the night was a strike so I ended on a high note.
 Linds and Jessi
Me doing my pre-dance bowl or pre-bowl dance, whatever

Even though I was the wet towel that brought our team down luckily we had mark and dan on our team so we won!!

Yep, the losing team owes us Hogi Yogi.

Halloween Part uno

We all know what time it is.....time to dress up, look like a fool, put on that alter ego that you've always wanted to showcase and do it with no shame. Yep, it's halloween season. Provo comes alive during Halloween, no seriously it is kind of ridiculous. The parties have already started. When part II of this post comes out I will let you know about it all. But last week some girls in our ward threw a costume party so I went as a gypsy. I bought this belly dancing costume in Jerusalem but being modest I wore a shirt and was a gypsy. You could hear me from a mile away with all of the jangles on this thing. Here are a few more pics with my lovely roomies that night:

We couldn't pass up the opportunity to do an urban shot.

Two weeks ago we met up with some of our friends that Mela met in California and we carved pumpkins. My partner, Brett and I decided to carve a unicorn. We did it in record time ( ~15 mins) and the thing was a masterpiece. Ok, it looked terrible and everyone else's pumpkins were engineered and carved with perfection. But I am not hatin on the unicorn. I am a proud parent.

They were showcased on our porch for about a week until someone came and smashed melissa's pumpkin and then mine started leaking so we decided to toss them. I guess mine wasn't even good enough to be smashed.
Well back to homework :(

Here we Go, One More Time

Ok, I'm not going to lie. I miss blogging. I miss being able to recount my life to the World (as if anyone cares out there). I miss posting pictures. I miss being able to scroll through my life and see the amazing people that are in my life and the fun times we have.
So here I am back at it again with my blog, the only downside is that I am not in India or Jerusalem :(
Just boring ole' Provo. But I guess these are supposedly the "Glory Days" so I will let everyone know about them. This year has been the greatest year in college and I am busy 99.99% of the time. Man, so much has happened this year so far and I am sad that I can't tell you every detail but I am going to start NOW.
So family and friends.....please enjoy the blog :)

Also I am taking suggestions for names of my blog. Comment if you have any ideas.
